Questions shopkeepers ask

What do I need to start?+

Just WhatsApp. Tap Start on WhatsApp, send the prefilled message, and start your udhaar khata. Nothing to install.

Does it understand how I write?+

Yes: Urdu, Roman Urdu, English or mixed, with spelling mistakes, amounts like "5k" or "dhai hazar", and dates like "kal" or "15 tareekh".

How is udhaar recorded?+

Write the customer name and amount, with an optional item and repayment date, e.g. "Ali ko 5000 ka maal udhaar diya, 15 tareekh ko dega". When they pay, send "Ali ne 2000 diye".

How do I know who needs to pay today?+

Your daily account arrives on WhatsApp: who is due to pay today and how much you have received today. You can also ask "aaj kis kis se lena hai" any time.

Can I bring in my old balances?+

Yes. For each customer send "Ali ke purane 7000 baqi hain" and the old balance is added to their khata.

What if I make a mistake?+

Every receipt has an Undo button. You can also send "delete" and choose from recent entries. It asks before deleting anything.
